RE: Xenforo too expensive?

You don't have to keep sticking money into it, as long as you don't need to upgrade it doesn't cost much after its initial spending. But yeah, after a while the money does quickly rack up.

RE: Xenforo too expensive?

IPB, Xenforo, and vBulletin are all similar in pricing and features. You have to pay for quality, otherwise move to a free forum provider and sacrifice control and flexibility.

RE: Xenforo too expensive?

If you really want more expensive then go with invasion power. :P no joke it's far more than Xenforo as you have to pay around $120 a year for the licence and it's almost $600 for buying the software.

Time you add Hosting and Domain, THemes and other paid addons - It Adds Uppppppppppppppppppppppppp

RE: Xenforo too expensive?

Why don't you shift to myBB or phpBB? You can still customise your forum by installing latest themes and add-ons.

If XF is costing you more, you may also try expelling some of your add-ons, as not all add-ons are much required. You can still run your forum without those add-ons.

I have never used Xenforo for my forums but based on my understanding, Xenforo is one of the cheapest forum softwares out there. Last time I checked, the subscription charges were just arund $160.

Do you see an advantage in it? Why do you use it? Obviously, they got some gimmick going as an advantage in the market. What is it?

It’s my go forum software too. I used to like vBulletin, but that was way before they released vBulletin 4. Xenforo is worth it.

The price to update your Xenforo license isn't too costly I don' feel but depending on what you want to add and bring to your forum and whether the addons are free or paid, it can be quite costly in the long run with add-on licenses and themes too if you choose to pay for themes.

What's nice about XenForo is that you don't have to renew the license right away. You can still use it until you can afford the renewal. That's what I plan to do once mine expires in September.
