if you have spent time online, chances are there that either you or someone you know has been scammed. These days scams are everywhere online but why do people fall for them? In my opinion, there are two main reasons:
  1. Ignorance: They don’t research before trusting a site or person.
  2. Greed: They want quick money and take shortcuts.
If you're always in a rush to "get rich quick," scammers will find you. The best defense? Do your own research and avoid anything that sounds too good to be true.

I agree. There's a saying that often rings true and some people ignore it to their own determent: "If something appears too good to be true it usually is."

I think because there is zero face to face contact, it's easier for people to get scammed online. There's also a lot of services set up to take money from credit cards, be careful where you put your information online.

Indeed, ignorance and greed are the commonest attributes that cause people to get scammed online. Lack of research or proper thinking can make you very vulnerable to scams. The 'get rich quick' mindset is also a big problem here too
