Just a quick thread to get everyone's opinion on space crafts being spotted near military compounds.

Do you think they're trying to protect us? Or do you think they're just interested in what were doing. This is mainly where the majority of aliens (definitely not all) have been spotted at. Whether there's a government cover up or not I question their intentions. It seems we have been visited already in the past and present.

Whether or not they've interacted with the government directly or not is up for debate but I think they're protecting us. There have been numerous reports including one where space crafts stopped nuclear testing and put it completely to a halt. In other words it was stopping the nuke from exploading and going off. The whole facility was shutdown at the time because of the space craft. I can't exactly remember the exact name of the military base but this did happen.

Opinions?

Although I welcome the thought of extraterresial life ( i spelled that wrong?) and the benefits that it might bring to us, there has been no conclusive and resolute evidence to suggest the existence of such life. OR is it... I mean, our government does hide a good amount from us, and this might be very well something that might be hidden... just a thought.

I believe in something called random selection. It's my belief the universe has this thing called the "god particle" which was recently discovered at CERN science labs. What the god particle is basically is a physical way only scientists have just now been able to prove the existence of something in the universe that could relate to any form of god being real. They have spent billions, maybe even trillions on their research to find this particle. It's my belief the particle was used for an event called random selection. Where the universe was randomly selecting areas for life to exist. Not sure if this is all true as the god particle is the only fact in the matter. Random selection has not been proven with math or science.

Not to get off topic. Whether aliens exist is not yet known so I can see the skepticism. I personally am not sure if the governments hiding anything.

Straight up zenophile. I approve of this. (y)

But in all realness, it's much more likely that space crafts being spotted near military bases is just a load of bs. If aliens did exist, they couldn't give less about some primeval apes living on a rock...

You got a point. A lot of people have a theory that were just not that important.

I've asked myself if time itself has something to do with it. Where these gateways have to physically be opened up by something. Tbh that may be true. Time is infinite. Space could possibly also be infinite. Maybe it's not if they come but "when" they show up. I have an open mind but don't think im not also skeptical too. I just realize it's almost impossible for us to be the only form of life in the universe.

Time is... technically infinite, but space is definitely not infinite. Space only exists so long as there is matter to fill up said space, but eventually the universe will die. I'm not a spatial physics major or minor, so I totally couldn't give you the specifics (but wikipedia can).

It's not impossible, it's just more likely that we're the only form of sentient life in the universe. If you've read as much sci-fi as I have, you tend to realize that it's more likely for us to kill ourselves (as a species) than for some aliens from another system to exterminate us. In the open-source top-down spaceship game Endless Sky, there's a quote that "the humans will one day die, but their unintelligent cousins will surpass their existence."

So I'm pretty sure that if aliens did exist, they would either be non-sentient life forms (like most animals or bacteria or plants), super dead (like the dinosaurs), or transcendant, in the fact that they now realize everything and are just here to make sure we don't exterminate ourselves, and said transcendants now rule the universe like a menagerie.

For some reason I just don't feel like any aliens would be at the same technological level as us. I guess the same technological level just doesn't make for very interesting (by interesting I mean gory) science fiction.

Sorry for my late reply. My keyboard stopped working but I was able to fix it this morning. I just wanted to say that I respect your opinion however the way I personally see these things is you have to experience and be there to understand it. Would you be saying the same thing if you had a spaceship that could bend space time and traveled the stars to every single galaxy there is? If you experience these things you start to put impossibilities behind you and start to think more possibility than impossible. The vastness of the universe is great. I also do not believe an aliens race would wipe us out. Still to my own ideas I think perspective is everything. As if you were to see ants on the ground. If there was a handful of ants somewhere you were searching for they would never be found. Maybe the "unintelligent cousins" are actually smaller than us but still intelligent. Possibly a lot smaller but far more advanced then anything we can comprehend at the moment. The human race is not as advanced as they could be. Reason being is most human beings have closed minds and are not open to anything outside a skeptics way of understanding. They cannot reach out to the possibility of something existing that cannot be first seen or first experienced. If I was to go out on a 1000 year journey through the stars and planets and come back then I would believe anything beyond earth is possible. Not saying your close minded yourself and you have some interesting ideas too.
