What music makes you cringe?

There's always a genre of music that people hate so what's yours? I am not a fan of modern country music although I'll listen to the old stuff like Patsy Cline. Some of the really explicit rap is annoying to me too.

I've never been a fan of country music. That's one type of music I do not like. It can get quite annoying to say the least listening to country.

Heavy metal isn't "extreme", metal has many sub-genres that it would take the whole site bandwith to explain

Anyway, i dislike Reggaeton, Trap, tropical music and modern electronic music, makes me wanna hug my old rock and roll records with all my heart.

If I had to pick, I would have to say rap/hip hop. Personally, I think this genre has set black music back 30 years. I can understand someone saying it’s good to dance to. Yes, it does fill up a dance floor. However, I have a hard time with negativity. I can’t relate to the constant anger in stuff like gangster rap. What gets me is when I see women dancing on the floor to music that is always calling them “bitches and hoes,” it makes me cringe. I am like, yeah, let someone go disrespect you like that in person. To each their own.

I can't stand country music at all. I can tolerate mostly every other type of music and I listen to a wide variety however country is one of the only ones I refuse to listen to.

I would have to vote R&B / Hip-hop.. I just can't relate to it, and some of the dance moves are just utter cringe - may as well be a soft porn video!

I enjoy some good metal, but not if they are screaming out their vocal pipes to make it happen.

I enjoy rap, pop music so much it keeps me high like I'm going seven heaven, lol. My favourite rapper will always remain 2pac, and my fav pop singer is Michael Jackson.

None at all! Not that I'm saying I enjoy all genres but if there is a kind of music that I think would be bad or is considered 'cringe' to others, eventually I'll find a few songs I enjoy within that genre.

Heavy rap is something that I can never relate to. I doubt the purpose of singing and it doesn't give beauty to the music as well. Normal rap is fair enough.

Me too, I can't stand extreme heavy metal or death metal, it just hunts my head.

I don't have a particular genre.   However, certain songs are just absolutely annoying like - Shiny Happy People (REM) with the lyrics (The instrumental riff is actually really good.) and Celine Dion's theme to Titantic and Dolly Parton's (I will Always Love You.).    Note, this is not saying I don't like girlie romantic songs.  Some of them, like from Whitney Houston, are actually good.

Even if I said highlife in the past, it doesn't mean that I hate all highlife songs, even typical hip-hop songs or RnB can also be hated if the singer talks off, or doesn't make reasonable lyrics.

I cannot sit through the high pitched shrill singing in Opera.  Probably I do not have the taste for it.

For sure the worst band award from me will go to the Nickelback. I believe they are the worlds most hated band but ironically successful too. I feel all of their song sound the same. Don't waste your time on it.
