It goes without saying that humans make mistakes and we might sometimes knock a drink over, drop a gadget, or accidentally break an expensive device. Has this happened to you before? What actions did you take as a result? And, what steps are you taking to prevent this from happening again!!

RE: Spillages, Damages & Accidents

I've once dropped a Samsung S6 phone less than 6 weeks from purchase, and severely damaged the internal screen - it slowly turned black over the course of the day and became unusable. It wasn't insured, so I basically had to use an old phone with the SIM while the contract ran.. Painful!

A bit more recently, for the first time ever I spilt a drink at my PC which went all over my desk and keyboard. The keyboard didn't make it - it lit up, but many of the keystrokes would either register too many times or not at all..

Lessons haven't really been learned, my phone has a case that covers the back and sides of the device and a screen protector on the front, but I'm not convinced how effective they'd be against a similar drop.. and I still drink at the PC desk.

While we do eat & drink at the computer at times & have spilled a drop or two, it was nothing that could destroy it. Being holistic as well as frugal, I learned to 'take care of my toys'. To not take things for granted. Yes, accidents happen & they have here as well lol However I do my best to prevent them by simply not liking waste be it e-waste or wasting money. It's a tip that has worked for me :)

I just cracked my phone the other day, sadly. I ordered a new one online and got a warranty with it that covers accidental damage for two years. I also got a relatively strong case. I'm hoping that will keep it fairly protected.

I popped off my phone too many times. Firstly, it was Apple i5 which slipped from my hand and gone to a gutter. I never got it back. :cautious:

Later, I cracked my Redmi note 6 pro. After that, My 3 year old nephew sat on my laptop, and it cracked the screen. Yeah, my life is full of these tragic stories.

Their is nothing disheartening to me when it comes to my electronic device being damaged carelessly. I've experienced that before, i don't want to encounter it again, that's why I'm petting my device now.

Seems like nobody is insusceptible to it. Just yesterday, my friend had popped off his laptop from the bed, which left his screen cracked. Poor fellow. :cautious:

Hmm, that's a sad one for him or her there. Sometimes we are victim to such, cos of carelessness. We ought to be careful enough to know the spot the computer is dropped.

I've dropped my phone a few times, but it has a good enough case.

Nearly drop my laptop a few times due to the cooling fan not holding it as well.

I've dropped my phones quite a few times over the years. Thank you to them never getting severely damaged. They always seemed to work just fine for awhile, till I was able to get a new phone. The last time I was pretty careless about a phone of mine, was when I lent out my phone to my niece that lives in the house. She needed a phone to contact my parents (her grandparents) if in an emergency while at a highschool game when se was younger, and she ended up dropping the phone 30-40 feet down the empty space in the bleachers. It was too badly damaged after that to use.

This might be a little bit strange but when I was a kid I once dropped my phone in a soup. It was working perfectly, only needed to clean it pretty well. Other than that, I don't think I have other tech accidents.
