RTX 3000 OR AMD 6000 SERIES?

Good morning!

You know, AMD was always behind nvidia in terms of GPUs but in the past few years they have been improving a lot and in this last Generation, we've seen them having cards with an absurde Brute Force! (12, 16, 20 GB Cards), but they're still falling behind in terms of DLSS, Ray Tracing and not many GOOD monitors support their hybrid technology (freesync) to exploit its full power.

For me it's normal to own Ryzen and have a nvidia card but it's really odd to see an INTEL cpu and some AMD card (it's my perception)

AMD has better driver overhead, mainly in DX12 and vulkan. Guess years of investing in future APIs paid off.

Nvidia has been dropping the ball lately on recent drivers as well.

What do you think about Ray Tracing? Most games are oriented to that technology right now, AMD should do a commercial move to include their "technology" as well.

I would go with AMD especially if you plan on using the pc for virtual reality gaming.

I too go with AMD. Actually, nVidia is more featured but the price is higher for Nvidia chips. AMD is much cheaper and for the same price provide better chipset.

Shit man, I still have a GTX960. It suffices. I did see it lag tho when I played Cyberpunk 2077, but only a little bit. I'd be more than happy with like a GTX1080 Ti.

That card will do the job for many years to come without ray tracing but won't be able to hold it up with newer CPUs.

Yeah, SSD is very important! before you start thinking on getting a new GPU, what about your CPU? GTX 1080 ti requires a mid-high tier cpu to catch up.

I have an 8 core AMD 8150FX @ 4.15 gigahertz

I think that will produce a huge Bottleneck, the FX series don't have a good perfomance overall for gaming (i was a FX-8150 user as well!) i paired it with a GTX 960 and it sucked real hard, i recommend you to power up that first!

I also have a GTX960. And a 550 mb/s Samsung SSD and 32GB ram. I've had no issues gaming so far....

Which games do you play? i even had issues with CS-GO..
It has to do a lot with your CPU refrigeration too, maybe mine was horrible (i had a 212 evo)

I'm currently playing Dual Universe which runs pretty good (on low). But I'm back on my main PC so we'll see. Mechwarrior On-line worked really well. And Sims 4 runs on ultra.

I have pretty decent cooling .

Isn't the RTX 3090 still the best graphics card in 2022? 

I also heard AMD graphics cards have issues with specific popular games. So my trust remains with Nvida, for now anyway.
