Brain damage seems to cause it - yet many cultural conservatives want to execute pedophiles - or at the least, put the harshest laws against them.

They don't deserve to be physically executed but they do deserve the harshest laws possible. Anyone that would hurt a child deserves to be locked up for most of their life.

Yes I believe execution would be too kind to them, they need to suffer through a life sentence to make up for the trauma and psychological damage they had caused to the child.

People who are going to be executed spend most of their lives just trying to save their necks and also lot of money on lawyers and stuff, so maybe it's the most healthy way to deal with it.

Alabama law states this:

On Monday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a controversial bill requiring that sex offenders in her state who are convicted of molesting a child — defined under Alabama law as anyone under the age of 13 — be chemically castrated as a condition of their release from prison.

I think chemical castration is a reasonable way to control those who cannot control themselves around children. After doing a quick search it appears that 9 states offer chemical castration.
