Who here has heard of an online graphic design tool, known as Panzoid? I love using this website; it's so easy, considering I do not know of Adobe design products. I actually created a couple of banners, and 3D intro's there, using the templates. And the best part? It's free to use!

I've never heard of it but will definitely check it out from the way you've described it. There's one website I've used in the past for 3D text.
