Overheating of my Nintendo Switch Lite

I purchased a Nintendo Switch Lite Version for my cousin as his 13th birthday present. But he's complaining about the console overheating when he plays on it for more than 2-3 hours.

This doesn't happen to my main Nintendo Switch, so I'm confused what could be the reason for the overheating.

Does anyone have this experience with Nintendo Switch Lite?

RE: Overheating of my Nintendo Switch Lite

YouTube should be your destination to watch some tutorial how to get it sorted. I think also, your cousin played loads of games on the LTE version and never allowed it to sleep for some time. It happens that way when you play for longer duration of time even on my PS4. When I owned PS2, I used to play up to 12 hours a day some times, you can imagine such kind of long duration? It can overheat the system and even makes it to lag.

It's very disappointing and frustrating at the same time getting to hear about that overheating issue of his Nintendo Switch Lite. If I had known it was that way, I wouldn't have bought it.

Whenever you can, please help me with getting the YouTube video.

Nintendo should do something about this if it is something serious because it is going to put to the users of the Nintendo switch Lite at risk when such keep happening when they are playing their video games.

It is definitely going to be a factory problem with the Nintendo switch Lite for it to be behaving that way because it shouldn't. Consoles are meant to be played for hours and not have any potential risk to the users.

I don't have Nintendo Switch Lite but the OLED version. I'm not why it would be overheating. You should try and contact Nintendo support and hear what they would have to say about it. Also, I hope the console didn't fall on the floor hard at any time?

I did asked him if the console fell and impacted hard on the floor but he said that nothing like that happened. He's no longer a kid any more not to know the implications of dropping the console hard on the floor. Maybe I should look into contacting Nintendo support just like you suggested.

I don't know if it's dust that must have caused the Nintendo switch Lite to be heating up. It's the same thing with my Playstation 4. If it's not dust, then something is wrong with it.

I had the same experience with my Playstation 3. Dust is a console killer.

It might be the same thing that's causing the Nintendo switch Lite to be heating up.

This is very reason why I make out time very often to have my console cleaned of dust. I don't want to cause a more permanent damage to my console simply because of dust.

It's not safe to be playing on the console when it's having that kind of issue. It might blow up in your face or something bad happen. You can never be too careful.

Yeah, it's definitely not safe at all. I have seen faulty Samsung Galaxy explode some years ago and it caused a lot of harm to its users. I already told him to stop playing on it.

I know when that trended very well some years ago. I almost fell into the trap of buying that product at the time but I never did. I was so happy that I was able to escape that one.

I don't really know what could be the cause of this but my Nintendo switch OLED version doesn't over heat , maybe you should consider shutting down the console when ever it begins to over heat so it can cool down a bit before rebooting again.
