Who has used it or plans to? What are your thoughts? What themes, mods, etc do you like for it?

Myself, I've used it before and liked it, but lately the popular (the only one I know) alerts system has become too difficult.

I prefer paid software like Xenforo 2 which is what we use on MyCafeTalk however myBB isn't terrible.

Though I have heard it doesn't have a responsive default theme right off the bat and there's no mobile version unless you buy a theme or make one yourself. That's quite odd but definitely true apparently according to a thread I read on forum promotion.
