Mutant Covid-19 new strain appears in New York. Origination in the UK

This isn't good. I am very worried after watching this political video. Apparently a brand new strain of the Virus with UK origin has shown up in New York. One of the most populated states in the United States. Apparently it's highly contagious. Is there some sort of break we could catch? Apparently they have given the 1st vaccine to a nurse in the United States. What could be the cause for this new strain. The beginning of the NBC Nightly News has explained what happened. What is the United States going to do? There has to be something.

Apparently the new strain had originated from animals. More specifically furrets that a farmer was using for their fur. The land owner eventually had to kill at least 10,000 of his live stock because of it. He even came down with the strain himself. How it ended up in New York you can only guess. With the vaccine I'm sure they'll have everything under control soon.

I hadn't heard that. Is that from WHO?

The last I heard was that it originally came from the Wuhan lab and China was covering it up...of course they are. Scientists have said there is no way the original came from bats.

Ah, I see. Minks had caught it from humans and then passed back onto humans. I read up on this and Russia is coming up with a vaccine for minks. The article I read (not the one you linked above) stated that this variant is not more dangerous.

Hopefully they're right in saying that. I don't think it is either to be honest. I heard something in the video I watched regarding it that stated it wasn't any more dangerous.

This is proof we spend too much time on other things instead of health and well-being of humanity. If we did this, it contain worse virus strains.

As I post this current virus threatening and infecting the world population is Omicron, which have mild symptoms but have very high infection rate. Death rate is far less compared to first and second wave. But the worrying fact is another version of omicron is on the threshold of spreading. This varient could be life threatening and is expected to spread 5 times faster. I think we need to get used to Covid just as seasonal flu.

Just before the war, the newspapers were flooded with only Covid news, but it is Ukraine and Russia all over the newspaper pages.  I think it is best to stay away from Covid related news and just focus on good food and hygiene.
