Modern Warfare corrupted my PlayStation 4 Pro's Software

OK, so when I click on Multiplayer on Modern Warfare, before I even get to see quick play and such, my PS4 Pro overheats and shuts off. When it overheats it sounds like a jet engine is taking off.

Well, yesterday the jet engine took off and the plane crashed. I now need to reinstall the software itself. From looking at comments on Reddit, it only happens on PS4 Pro. The problem affects no other console.

So here's the problem: If I reinstall the software it will take ~14 hours to install Modern Warfare (no joke) and since I would still be using a pro, the likelihood of the problem happening again is very high.

I only play Modern Warfare or Overwatch. It sucks too, because season 5 just started.

Do you still have warranty? Sony could take the case, you only have to pay for shipping.

If you know how to do it, you could replace your thermal paste with the noctua one (best thermal paste around).

Yeah, have no warranty, I got it in 2017.
No, I don't know how to replace it, and I don't have the best eyesight.

You could try by setting up a fan over your PS4. You get this problem during winter too?

Yes, it's currently winter. I have one of those http://standing fans that can't get any closer to the PS4 (it would be inside the PS4 if it could.)

Oh. If you got the Gen 1000... it's probably faulty

My friend bought his this year and it has no problem at all with any games including the one you mentioned. Don't you have any technical support around? should be an easy job for them.

I don't know. I think I'll just wait for the PS5.

Maybe you could sell it to someone now and just save for PS5. The hardware is potentially a lot more powerful so i think games shouldn't be a problem.

Something similar happened to my friends PS when he started playing Modern warfare but he was a programmer and he fixed it himself. Heck he even made a few bucks when another friends PS got corrupted cuz of a similar reason cuz he knew what to do to fix it.

This is really a frustrating experience. I wouldn't know what to do with the system in such situation. You can give it up and just wait for PS5.

This is why I don't rush into play any new games whenever it's released. These kinds of problems are what I'm always trying to avoid. 

I feel bad for every gamer that had to through that kind of trash experience.
