AMD, yeah just wow. Right? they have come to a very long deep road to get to where they are now with so many cores count. Yet Intel is in the lead regards single-core performance and also helps for gamers :) Multitasking AMD got this.

Since Intel has now got new staff and hired the old flocks, seems that they are now starting to pick up their butts and starting to lead again when 11th gen comes. At this point they said that AMD will also beat them regards cores count however they don't care about that, they only care about there single-core performance. So 8 cores yet can boost up to 5.4gz and able to keep up to 4.8gz fully gaming for hours without dropping.

Will you think that INtel will get back as number one again?

RE: Intel Is going to Lead!

Would be interesting to see how they do here in the coming days. Intel was always my favorite and old AMD models did have issues. Currently using Athlon Gold for my laptop processor which is right below the lowest Ryzen (in other words not the best). I do experience faint times where it pauses and so forth like it's going to freeze. Rare but happens on occasion. I'd rather have Intel since I don't do much PC Gaming. If they get the lead, good for them. I've come to learn the difference in the 2 is Intel is more powerful, but Ryzen is a more smoother experience.

RE: Intel Is going to Lead!

I've always gone through intel. I was actually going to get the new i7 when I began to make my own computer but someone was telling me that multitasking and doing stuff like rendering videos, making graphics, after effects, etc. it's a lot better to go through AMD as they're better for it which is something I do a LOT! So, now I'm sadly on the edge debating on what I want. I play games a LOT, but I also work on a ton of stuff at once and constantly have 50 tabs of google, after effects, photoshop, games, filezilla, illustrator, notepad++, discord, skype, and guilded, plus a ton of other stuff open constantly and think AMD might be the best bet for me in the long run.

I think both companies are doing well, though I hear apple will start making their own CPU, which might be trouble for Intel and AMD?

Same, From the very start I always went with INtel, then again ten years ago AMD was just so bad that most people had no choice but to go with intel. But Yes, for that kind of work that you mention, AMD is your best bet, since it's more core demanding counts than the performance. Regarding gaming, Intel wins way ahead. But for anything else, I say AMD is the winning.
But 11th gen is going to start to poke AMD in the butt :) they are now showing to be the boos once again. Going to be very interesting. I

'm on i7 10700K myself here that's 8 cores with 16 threads at 5.3gz - Looking at maybe getting 11th gen also when it's out.

Wrong, the 11th gen is behind even in single core perfomances in overall tasks, but what really is helping Intel is that AMD has risen their prizes much more and they become a valuable option in mid-tier specs like the i5.
Also, i think they made a mistake by still using 14nm fabrication process.. i think that they should have waited to release it when the LGA 1700 chipset is released to finally introduce the DDR5 ram.

I think this 11th gen is a total failure like the 7th.. the APUs are the only ones that should lift them a bit.

I think that AMD has nowhere to go but up. Intel's improvements have been far more incremental. It's definitely possible that Intel could take the lead again, but I don't see it happening overnight.
