My goal is to advance in the search engine ranking position of my website. What is the most successful methods to improve website visibility? And how do I generate free traffic from search engines? Of course I understand that there is need to adequate knowledge in Search engine optimisation. What are your thoughts on this?

Some of the things I've done that helped was make sure the URLs are easy to read and not random characters/numbers. If I'm using images, the imagename is clean and descriptive, along with alt text.

I've also tried to make use of schemas when I can. https://schema.org/

Search engine ranking is basically depended on SEO, you will have to implement various kinds of SEO strategies to get on the top of search engine result page. You need to use keywords, build backlinks, improve UX, UI and website speed, and last but not the least your content should be high quality

I would look at the backlinking strategy and content of sites that are already ranking. Note: there are plenty of sites that let you legally spy on the backlinks of other sites. One such site is Ahrefs.com. Others are Moz.com, Majestic.com, SemRush.com.

I don't recommend using backlink generators but there are people on fiverr and seo clerks you can pay small amounts to do blog guest posting and different things like that. Some even own the domain and keep your link up for long periods of time.

Also, even though Google stopped using meta keywords as a search ranking signal, I still suggest you add them. For Xenforo 2 I suggest adding them in the head tags of PAGE_CONTAINER template like so:

Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3">

Because while this won't increase your ranking per say, it still helps google understand more about your site and index the genre better.
