No idea if we already have a topic on this famous Me vs What acted  Anyway it's the famous title as always that people always ask as to Gimp Vs Photoshop, but let's discuss this more rather than "Gimp is far better as it has this and that and it's FREEEEEEE" well, it's free or paid, who cares, right

I would absolutely ditch GIMP if you intend on becoming a professional at any point in the future. GIMP is free, but flaky. Photoshop is great but is stupidly expensive. Unless you use crack, It's also an easier learning curve parch with Photoshop as GIMP is really nothing at all like Photoshop. Affinity is much more like it. If you're on a budget, Affinity is a good option!

But if budget is no problem, then go straight for Photoshop. Don't get me wrong: GIMP is a great endeavor and deserves support. But it's not now nor will it ever be something you will use professionally.

RE: Gimp Vs Photoshop?

I can afford the $120 for the photoshop photography plan but I'd rather spend my money on something I actually could make use for. While they made it more affordable at the same time it's just the simple fact that I can always spend that money on something else so I never buy it. I've used GIMP for quite some time and I just use it for logos which is mainly all it's good for but it's not half that bad.

The GIMP is free, but it has flaws. Photoshop is fantastic, but it is too pricey. Serif's Affinity line (Photo and Designer) is an excellent compromise - not too flaky and not too pricey.

Photoshop will let you into the Basics of graphics designing. There is an extensive analysis of everything that you will like to learn. Unlike what we have with Gimp.

GIMP is as good as photoshop and the only problem I had with GIMP when I used it was its floating screen. But that was a long time ago and perhaps they might have changed the interface now

Photoshop runs pretty expensive and if you are not creating graphics and such to make a profit, it does not justify the price. I use GIMP which I find to be just as good as Photoshop and have made some great graphics for personal projects.

I’d say that both GIMP and Photoshop have their unique advantages. GIMP is a powerful open-source image editor that’s great for those who prefer a free tool or are just starting out with image editing. Photoshop, on the other hand, is the industry standard with advanced features and capabilities. For professional work, I tend to lean towards Photoshop for its extensive toolset and integration with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps. However, for quick edits or personal projects where budget is a concern, GIMP is a fantastic alternative.
