For your controllers, do you have batteries that you can charge using a charger, or are they non-chargeable ones? So each time you run out of juice, you have to replace them with new ones? It's definitely annoying when this happens, especially if you haven't got any spare in the cupboard. It's happened to me before but in the end, I took them out my secondary controller.

RE: Batteries

I recently have been using non-chargeable batteries as one of my controllers has issues and caused the charger packs to mal-function. 1 still works on a different controller. I had a nice setup where I was trading off while the other charged on a chargeable dock.

I plan to get charger kits next time as they would definitely never break and last longer.

RE: Batteries

The only ones that do is a wireless PS2 controller and my Wii remote. Everything else is thankfully rechargeable. If I had to pay for batteries, gaming get pretty pricey.

RE: Batteries

I remember I had a few controller 'battery packs' fail on the Xbox 360 that would no longer recharge - but it turned out that if you opened them up, they were simply rechargeable AA batteries.. Take them out, slap them in to a generic recharger, and voila!

Thankfully the PlayStation controllers don't use them - although of course the downside is that if you encounter a recharge issue, it probably requires a new controller.

I have a PS4 and PS5. Ever since I got a PS4 I haven't needed batteries.

With my PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers, I just charge them with my phone charger since uses a USB type-C cable. With the Xbox Series X controllers, I just use normal batteries for them because I haven't had a chance to buy rechargeable ones.

I do have an Xbox Wireless control and it's rechargeable ;) with spare just in case one goes out while I'm gaming. Simple and fast and does not take that long. That's the way to go about it rather than buying each time.

Yeah I finally bought a new docking station. Suits me quite fine for the Series X. Still need to get a new 2nd controller but I just switch out the battery pack and use the controller that has issue only to charge.

RE: Batteries

I prefer peripherals with cords. I like to decrease the input lag as much as humanly possible, and I still find wireless peripherals to be quirky at times. For me, having a cord is the way to go.

RE: Batteries

I have Dual Shock 4 for my PS4. It has a rechargeable battery and a micro USB charging port, which does not require any removal or replacement of batteries like in Xbox controllers.

It takes around 2 hours to charge fully, and I can play around 6 to 7 hours with it which is quite good. :)

RE: Batteries

I tend to use rechargeable batteries a large majority of the time. I do have some spare non-rechargeable ones just incase. Also helps to have a few usb cords within reach if I prefer to not waste the batteries that cannot be recharged. The biggest issue I have had previously with rechargeable batteries, were the ones that I thought were heavy duty, but ended up dying faster than the name brands.

I mostly play on PC and use a keyboard and a mouse.

I have my spare controllers to play with. I always have them charged and kept for cases of emergency when my main controller dies.
