It’s my personal most favorite paid forum software in my eyes and the best paid one too in my book. Why? Because it’s interactive, mobile responsive and fully customizable for me anyways.
Indeed it is.Yes I do. Too many softwares out there that just can't compete. Now that they've released Xenforo 2 they're starting to get more users. vBulletin 5 was just a huge mistake. It's made more for the business type site so I'll give them that but vBulletin 4 was much better. I used to run a site with vBulletin 5 and it wasn't a terrible software but there are next to no add-ons for it. There's only one place you can get add-ons for it and it's a place called vbmods.rocks ran by a former vBulletin employee.
Customization is really the key difference here from most platforms.
Those old versions of IPB were the most popular around mid 00s, but now it's a pale shadow and tbh it's quite expensive for what they offer.I use to be a huge IPB fan, but I wasn't very happy with what they did with IPB 4 so I happily jump ship to Xenforo, which I feel these days seems to offer a lot more. I only wish it had a working arcade for it. But yeah, I've been very pleased with Xenforo and I like how easily it upgrades and not wrecks things.
How much is it currently compared to Xenforo? Those old versions of IPB were the most popular around mid 00s, but now it's a pale shadow and tbh it's quite expensive for what they offer.
Why?Last time i checked it was US$ 30 per month. It has pretty much tons of addons but none of them makes you feel comfy. I tried for 6 months and dropped it.
I correct myself. It's $45 per month.Why?
I think it's "THE" worst paid forum software ever personally. I hate it.I correct myself. It's $45 per month.
In the past, IPB was oriented to user experience and community oriented addons but now you can only get like some sort of blogging, market and media to leave the forum solution behind.
Yes and I'm really loving your forum look. Please do put your URL in your signature as I would love to promote your site. Your forum is probably the one I would promote the very most above any other forum I have yet to Partner with. It's probably my favorite.Yes, yes and yes. Recently moved from mybb to xenforo on my own forum and I must admit best move ever.
Or learn OOPHP (to a comfortable level) and make your own add-ons.You're right. Addons can get fairly expensive and the costs really pile up. You'd have to be dedicated or know a way to make less stuff work.
XenForo has an official Media Gallery add-on.I was thinking on building a new site about Game making, does Xenforo has a Built-in gallery to share?
