Academic style books or other readings

As a student, I have to read a lot more credible sources such as academic book chapters and journal articles. Some things are interesting and very educational, but sadly because I am reading them, I do not find the time or energy to read for fun.

Does anyone else read more academia based readings? I believe they may have the potential to interest and inspire even people who are not students!

RE: Academic style books or other readings

The most of books I actually read are academic books. Not textbooks or anything like that but to learn, the answer is definitely. It's not often I pick up a novel even though as a teenager I read them. Most of them are web development books and programming books. I bought a lot of them from amazon a while back. I plan to get back into them soon for PHP.

I read through academic stuff on occasion. Usually when I want to get up to date on what is being taught, and if there are anything new in certain circles. I tend to gravitate towards Science and Astronomy. Love reading through articles and books on various subjects in those categories.

I have not read any academic book ever since I completed my university program. I read books on academic topics like  science, literature, economy, history, etc. but I don't read course material, I read books that are not the part of university or college curriculum.

Not into academic books anymore!! If I find something interesting, I surf and learn about it.  Other than that I read fiction books which have good reviews.

Back in my school days we read books, Any style of books. PCs are just pointless and well, they are running windows XP for awhile before they moved to windows 7. BUT - Books are the way to learn and how to read. Not anymore though. While I had books, when I elft to go to collage I read online books. I did I.C.T and everything was online based

RE: Academic style books or other readings

Occasionally I do browse through academic books to keep myself updated on latest technology. I have taken up studies and joined courses which interests me online, and as part of it, I refer to related topics online and sometimes get books from library. I make time to read fiction novels too which allows me to divert my mind from stressful situations which arises every now and then.
