RE: Have you read the Harry Potter series?
I've read some of it, but never read all of the books. Never was interested in reading those after the second book, due to interests in science fiction and fictional history genres. Didn't really think that they would be interesting after the first...
RE: Study finds science fiction triggers poorer reading.
I think part of the reason with science fiction triggering lack of poor reading, is that not a lot of people put the time to read into the technical stuff that are represented in science fiction, especially the stuff that relate to what...
RE: Considering buying my favourite books
I would love to buy some of Orson Scott Card's books in hardback form. The Enders Game Series I loved reading, and would read them on occasion, if I had them as hardbacks.
RE: Investing in art
I have some paintings from artists. Usually stuff that relate to rural areas, forests and general landscaping. Half of the pictures we have hanging up in the house are paintings of one thing or another.
RE: Academic style books or other readings
I read through academic stuff on occasion. Usually when I want to get up to date on what is being taught, and if there are anything new in certain circles. I tend to gravitate towards Science and Astronomy. Love reading through articles and books on...
RE: Get into trouble for reading...?
Never got in trouble for reading, as I tend to read through text books most of the way through, to avoid having to keep up with homework. Most of the "getting into trouble", usually revolves around forgetting to do homework when I was in school.
RE: Young Adult Books
I remember reading a number of Young Adult books a number of years back. It's been awhile, but I do agree that most of them tend to be pretty easy to read through, and remember where you left off.
RE: Favorite author?
My favorites are Orson Scott Card, Stephen King, louis l'amour and C.S. Lewis.
Those are generally my pick on the go to for reading fiction. Always fun to have different varieties of books to read.
RE: TV shows or movies turned into books?
I generally dislike books made into movies, as most directors and producers will make poor copies of books as movies. Though I do have a number of personal favorites that came out pretty decent as movies. Wish more movie directors took the time to work...
RE: Do you prefer physical books or e-books?
I am still a physical book person. Haven't gotten used to reading digital, but I have some digital books that I read on occasion. Probably doesn't help that my only digital copies are on my computer, and I am looking at computer screens most of the...
RE: Whats the weirdest nickname anyone has given you?
The weirdest I have received from someone I know, would be "Teddy Bear". Mainly because of my weight and strength. :D Don't ask me why I was compared to a stuffed animal, but hey, I have the strength of a bear, and the bounciness of a...
RE: what calms me
If I am feeling stressed, I have found a few different outlets help, based on the type of situation I am in. For most of the major stuff, I walk off the stress. Sometimes this takes no more than an hour; other times much longer. If I can't get out to walk, enjoying the outside...
RE: Minimalism: Do you practice it?
I try to. Online, I do not have many sites I go to; the ones I do, I have bookmarked to not forget the url. In life, I don't have many things anyways, but I can always slim down what I do have. Been working on getting stuff that would make my living space a...
RE: If you could clear your name...
Sure, I would love to clear my name if the situation called for it. But then there are always issues with doing so, especially right after an argument that may have caused it. I have had far more success in clearing my name awhile after the fact, over...
RE: 5G is fixing to take over
I would love to make the switch over to 5G, if the area I live in still needed half of the towers to be upgraded to 4G. Love to be able to have the faster speeds on my phone. Plus I don't like the idea that they haven't completely figured out the needed power for...
RE: The teacher that influenced you most
Gotta admit, most of my English Teachers did help me out with figuring out how to write my thoughts out. If it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be taking seriously the way I write.
RE: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
There is a few places I would love to eventually head off too.
Love to eventually head to the following locations:
Fairbanks, Alaska (I have family that lives 30 miles from Fairbanks);
New York City, New York, New York...
RE: Do you believe in life on other planets?
I tend to think that there is life in other corners of the universe. I never doubt that there may be the possibility. Just look at some of the structures that have been identified on Mars of all places. If spotting those from orbit doesn't perk...
RE: International Space Station
I've been wondering about the station. I have a app at allows me to watch one of the outfacing cameras on it, as it circles the globe. Love watching that on occasion, as I want to sit in quiet, and relax.
RE: Do you see the Milky Way?
I love looking up at the stars. Haven't lately, due to the smoke from the fires from the West Coastline (looking at you California and Oregon). Temperatures are getting to the right spot, where I won't be sweating sitting there at night. One of these days, I might...
