An operating system (OS) operates a computer to link users with hardware components like the CPU and RAM. The OS also manages operations within the computer such as processes, memory, I/O, networking, etc. This facilitates running programs by coordinating their functions and resources -- it helps to maintain security restrictions which are necessary for overall system protection.

I just prefer Windows 11 which I'm very impressed with. I was given a free update by Microsoft on my PC and updated soon after it released. It's much faster. We use Linux to run this website though on a virtual private server.
