Have you ever tried to use that little bottle of touch up paint to fix a scratch on your vehicle? Did it come out looking all gloppy (my word LOL)? Is there a trick to get it to blend into the original paint better?

RE: Touch Up Paint?

Modern paints have a number of layers and have fairly durable chemicals in the paint. There are products in the car wax section that can remove scratches, but they won’t work if the scratch is actually deep enough to cut all the way through the colour layers down to the primer. Still, for less than $10 and a few hours of elbow grease, it’s worth a shot. But why bother? I think that most people with stranded cars do not bother.

RE: Touch Up Paint?

Done it once or twice. Would rather save up money for a complete professional repaint job, if it is needed. Though, small dinks in the paint job is not much of a worry for me, unless it is rather noticeable.
