Subscription and Rent

Most OTTS have started to follow the 'subscription and rent' model which means that to watch certain content, one has to not only buy a subscription for access to the platform in general but also shell out more money to watch a specific film that is levied as 'rent'.

I think this is discriminatory, destroying the level playing field in the OTT market and also actually shuns people away from OTT platforms. I prefer Netflix over Prime because its a 'one size fits all' approach for Netflix but tahts not the case in Amazon Orime.

What are your thoughts?

I have always used Netflix and HULU. They are my favourite streaming service when it comes to movies and TV shows. I'm still considering adding Disney plus to it.

I get Netflix for free through my mobile/broadband provider. I like that it's an added incentive with them. I get a discount on another New Zealand streaming service that has the licenses to the HBO Max content.
