Well, he's been arrested. This is what the former Ecuadorian President had to say:

Throughout the election Donald Trump loved WikiLeaks, now I guess not so much

RE: Julian Assange Arrested

@Seneca just watched the video of it. Never knew what he looked like until now. It interest me the explosion that went off as they were hauling him off to the police truck. If you pay attention it looks as if the windows were blown out. Seems like someone didn't like this. To be honest it's obvious the law was not broken otherwise wouldn't have they arrested him much longer ago? Seems like they would have. If the documents were classified then why didn't they arrest the people who gave "him" access to them. Aren't you supposed to hold the officials who let him get the documents in the first place accountable. I think so...

Keep in mind he was in the embassy for over 6 years and for most of that time had no sunlight. It's safe to say that's why he, a 47 year old man, looks like 80 years old.
The former President of Ecuador has come out against this. Whether [you] like him or not, he is a journalist. He is also being held in UK's Guantanamo Bay.

Ecuador's Human Rights Commission declares Assange asylum expulsion illegal in violation of articles 6, 41, 66.14, and 77 (nationality, asylum, non-refoulement and due process) and predicts Ecuador will be found to have violated international conventions.

Fidel Narvaez, former Ecuadorian consul, was with JA from day 1 to July 2018. He assures that during that time there was never any serious incident. He said that the current government was dedicated to harassing and mistreating him so that he left the Embassy on his own.

The Ecuadorian President and his family have some shady business going on.

It's a shame how a man that leaked documents is treated like that and peeps who kill and are involved in massive cases of corruption are still free.
