Yeah, so former L.A. porn star Sasha Grey is not the first person we'd pick to read children's books to our first graders.

But she's been out of porn for a couple years now, and in the new TMZ Photos of Grey allegedly reading aloud at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, she looks peppy and professional, and the kids are almost as stoked as she is.

The real point of shame, here, is Compton Unified School District's hilarious denial of a well-documented event:

A rep for the school district is flatly denying Sasha was ever inside one of its classrooms — telling TMZ, “We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated [sasha] was not present.”

things that don't add up: Normally, “Read Across America” is celebrated on March 2, for Dr. Seuss' birthday. (Compton Unified has hosted more Rated-G stars like the “So Raven” girl and SpongeBob voice actors in the past.) Not only would this guest appearance have been eight months late, but it appears the children chose some book about dogs with huge noses over “Red Fish, Blue Fish” (see photo, below). Total diss on Dr. Seuss, right?
Still, for whatever reason, it seems damn clear Grey was in the classroom she claims she was in November 2. Emerson Elementary isn't picking up the office phone today, and numerous officials at CUSD have yet to call us back.

Reminds us a little of their shuttered denial (and subsequent silence) after blocking parents' attempts to pull McKinley Elementary out if its academic rut back in 2010 and early 2011. You'd think one of the worst districts in California, where less than half of students graduate, would be a bit more open to suggestion.

For what it's worth, parents have noted Emerson's “watered down curriculum” and teachers that “need teaching” on one Internet Forum

Can't wait to see administrators wiggle their way out of this one.

Update: Here's Grey's response in full, very much confirming the fact that she read to kids at Emerson Elementary on November 2. No word either way from district officials, who will probably use Veteran's Day and the coming weekend as an excuse to forever avoid comment on their botched coverup.

“I am proud to have participated in the “Read Across America” program at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, CA. I read “Dog Breath” by Dav Pilkey to the sweetest 1st and 3rd grade children.“Read Across America” is a program that was designed to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in elementary school students. Promoting education is an effort that is close to my heart. Illiteracy contributes to poverty; encouraging children to pick up a book is fundamental.

I believe education is a universal right. I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent.

I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am.

I will not live in fear of it. To challenge non-profit education programs is an exercise in futility, counter-productive and anti-educational.

I cannot thank my fans and 'Read Across America' enough for supporting my decision. Your support and kind words continue to inspire me. I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives.”

It may not sit well though if any kids did a Google search of Sasha Grey, and found out what she did for a career. Lots of young people own a mobile these days. So that'd be why.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but why is this in Current News when this event happened in 2011? Even though it doesn't say it in the story, so I can't be completely sure, to avoid all this mess wouldn't it make sense to start going being addressed by your real name, as oppose to still using your stage name. 1@JoyFreak[/uSER] Sasha Grey has tried to clean up her image on Google Searches by claiming her name on domains and social media to push down the more explicit search results under her name. Although it is a crazy move to do considering how filthy her porn can be :ROFLMAO:
