Last time I went to Thailand, I tried out some of their insect meal. It had a platter of fried insects like cockroaches nd grasshopper along with frog legs.

The very idea did irk me at the first go, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. Would you try them out?

RE: Insect meal

I probably wouldn't try them out but I see why you may have. Probably because you were traveling and someone who lived there offer you to experience their culture. Which in turn it can sometimes be rude to turn it down. I wouldn't try it but to each their own :D

When I visit countries that I havent explored, I always make it a point to try their food and dress. The fundamental idea is understanding that food can help bind you with other people and their experiences. I would try anything thrown at me, if its food.

RE: Insect meal

I never have myself. But when I was looking into prepping & survivalist, they had info on what insects would be good when food is scarce. It repulses me 'cos it's not the norm but desperate times...

RE: Insect meal

Nope, not trying that

RE: Insect meal

I might try an insect but we should remember that our stomachs are accustomed to eating certain foods and new things can disrupt the system. There are a group of people who are used to eating raw meat but that's not healthy for the majority of the people.

1@Lord Saru[/uSER] what did the insects taste like, btw?

RE: Insect meal

There is an inset we call Egu, it's like a maggot, Aku it's flying insect and Avudu which lives in the ground. Africans have so many of them insects that we eat and they are very nutritional.
