Talking at least a couple of decades from today, where are you expecting to see technology at? Some examples I can think of are robotic machines taking our jobs, a speedy way to travel (alternative to airlines), or perhaps flying cards. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but I feel 100 years from today is more realistic.

But how far can technology evolve? There must be a limit, and then what happens once that limit is reached?

RE: Future of Technology

Interesting subject. I wanted to say that robots taking over is actually a possibility for jobs and furthermore could possibly cause a huge issue if they have artificial intelligence capabilities that expand into them choosing not to obey. There was someone who once said "machines would become so powerful they would devour their own creator". Which is why a chip would be better. No artificial intelligence at all but a chip that controls everything.

Robotic machinery have already been integrated in some industries, like automobile making. Most of your car makers have robotics constructing the cars and trucks, in a large portion of their production line. It ofcourse makes sense that they also have people that are hired specifically to keep those machines running. Can't have it at 100% robotic. :D

I can see some better advancement in how some robotics are done in 100 years.

I would hope that the Eye Gaze technology used for people with disabilities would be advanced so that it could be used every day. Think about how you could be walking down the street and not have to have a handheld device, but maybe something connected to your eyeglasses to use the internet with your eyes? I know there are sci fi movies/shows that have that but I honestly think it could happen.

Personally I would like to see more robotic gardening get accomplished. I hate doing weeding ;)

Just remembered one thing that sounds like it would be a blast to see advanced quite a bit. Prosthetics! They have gotten to the point that the higher end arm and hand versions, can make it so that the average person can actually do most anything with them, ranging from basic cooking, grabbing and carrying things, and typing on the computer. That particular high end prosthetics have something like a 60-80% mobility and range of motion. Pretty good, considering it is robotic based, but tied to your nervous and muscle system for response times.
