What are your thoughts on the folding smartphones that are starting to come out now? I heard some good and some bad with it. The good is that the screen is nice and clear, and when folded, you have an outside screen that works like a regular smartphone. Otherwise the bad side is that the phone is mostly plastic, including the screen, so you're more at risk for scratches and other damage. As well, one reviewer stated that the hinges catch sand, and other debris easily, so that may be a problem.

What do you think of them? They look cool, but for the money, the quality doesn't seem all there. Do you think it would be a good gaming tool? Or would it be best suited for other things?

RE: Folding Smartphones

Well I prefer the touch screen apple style iOS or Android phones. I used to prefer folding but if it's touch screen and still folding I might like it. Just hard to text people if it wasn't.

RE: Folding Smartphones

Its fun and all until you fold it and sit on it. I think it's an old way to have phones at the moment, until they get really think. Flip phones were popular back when I was a teen, now I can only see them popular in Japan.

Provided that it has that risk of getting damaged faster than I can think, due to its plastic nature, I wouldn't consider it. I have gaming device, I don't want a scenerio where my device is more risk prone of damaging.

RE: Folding Smartphones

I have used flip phones during my college days, the one which has a keypad. But now that's, not the trend and if we use it now, am sure people will look at you weirdly.

RE: Folding Smartphones

I'm not a fan of folding smartphones. The idea might be cool but it doesn't seem practical for me. Also, I don't think they're worth the price tag they come with. I'd rather stick with "traditional" smartphones as they last longer and provide more value.

It's quite an interesting design of mobile phones, I don't own one at the moment but I have handled one in the past and they are very durable.

The design is efficient and you comfortably use it in whatever style you want .

I have seen it and I don't like it. I would buy it even if it's sold $50. The smartphone is going to stress me a lot when I'm using it.

When I saw these handsets, I really liked them. However, when I found that the handset was really expensive, I decided that I would never buy them. I am not in a favor of using expensive devices. However, I like using high-end laptops.

Folding smartphones is not something I can get behind at all. I have seen people with them and have heard of issues with the screen getting a fold line in it which is a bit of a worry.

Years ago I never minded a folding phone but how they are designed now, it's not something I could use.
