There's no point to it. De-funding the cops is required by law if they are breaking the law themselves but why you would do that if they weren't doing anything wrong is why there is absolutely no point to it.
I never tried that before, because, I really don't like breaking the laws. If I am caught, that will simply get me in danger of facing serious penalty.
“Defund the police” movement has resulted in smaller police budgets, making the department worried about understaffing which will challenge them to keep their communities safe. Police morale is at its lowest ebb. The movement ironically wants funds from police departments to be allocated to social services, youth services, housing, education, healthcare and other community resources. This I believe is a bad idea. Police excesses should be controlled but they should not be in the receiving end while maintaining law and order.
