For those into astronomy, who is into astrophotography? What is your set-up like? Do you have a special camera, equipment?

I’ve always been in awe at the people who capture such extraordinary pictures. The details are just breathtaking. Now, I have a Celestron Nexstar telescope with a Go-To. So if I wanted to have a set-up to take pictures, where do I begin? While we don’t have a cell phone, we do have a laptop. I have watched some videos & some do use their laptop. Other than that, I don’t know what sites, apps I would need to download.

Anybody have any recommendations? Is it worth the time & trouble?

RE: Astrophotography

You can look into space engine but it's not the same as viewing the night sky with a telescope. A simulation if you will but known planets and stars are recreated. It's a bit sad that all I can refer you to is that because nothing will ever take the beauty is space but I mentioned it since it's of interest in the least. You can also create planets to see what would happen and play with scenarios

RE: Astrophotography

We have advanced Astromaster telescope from Celestron which is powerful to see the Saturn Rings at a clear sky at night. It also comes with the motorised support and mobile app which automatically adjusts the telescope position to view the selected planet or comets.

It's little bit pricy but is worth it.

Sounds extremely interesting 1@StarShip[/uSER]

I've always wanted to have even an ordinary telescope but never got around to actually getting one. Plenty of planets are visible where I live at certain times. There was a partial Solar Eclipse just recently.

Wow awesome , solar eclipse is a Spectacular phenomenon.
A note of Caution "Never Use any telescope or Binocular to View the Sun it is very dangerous and damaging for the eye"

I would suggest to go with entry level telescope then to upgrade as we gain more knowledge in the planets and in astrology.

To have nice View setup your sky viewing Schedule on a clear night sky and it would be more amazing on "No moon sky" with less light disturbance we can view the Space more clearly.

Hope this would be helpful.

RE: Astrophotography

I was into astro discovery a lot in college. At that time we only had a stolen telescope lol we kinda took it from a friend and didn't give him back till the end if the second last Semester. It was fun plus my roommate had a Nikon P1000, damn that thing had an amazing zoom. I remember the first exciting moment was when we took a photo of Saturn.

I can see Saturn a lot of times where I live at. It's probably one of the most common planets that are visible here in North Carolina. On certain occasions you can spot it in the sky. Recently I've been spotting what looks like a star but appears to be a planet with water on it. I don't know what it is unless it's Neptune from the blueness of it, which it probably is. But as it fits in with other stars, you can tell it's definitely a planet.

Anyone have an idea?

Some people are into photography in general and even a few make a living off it. It's a hard niche of a job but many females do it for fun. I guess capturing that still moment is like an art. If only we could take pictures of outer space and other planets, it would be much more intriguing.

I would love to have a shot at the hubble telescope to get some images. They should honestly release a telescope that people could (more then one person) use to take photographs of outer space from the Internet. If you knew of anything like that let me know.

How will know such kind of person that takes pictures of outer space, its difficult to find people of that nature. But to be frank it will be more intriguing seeing more of such pictures. That will make the astrophotographers popular and earning more reward.
