Sometimes i play the Resident Evil's spin off games.. and pretty much that's it. i loved FF X and the Shin megami tensei games but after completing them back in the day.. never really did it again

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

Don't play but still have a PS2 and I think might have a 1 still as well.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

PS2? OMG hehehe I never owned one. We did have an Xbox One S but sold it. lol

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

I recently sold my old PS2, but kinda regret doing so..

Even though I now own the majority of my favourite games from the platform in their "remastered" form on PS3/PS4, there's still a few that I would like to play again.

The problem now will be trying to get one in a similarly good condition to the one I sold!

In my country you can find a complete PS2 with generic controllers for less than 100$.

Ebay should be an option too.

I own PS2 and still play it to this day it is amazing system I really enjoy it :)

I have soft modded my PS2 by Installing Free Mcboot Home Brew Software on PS2 Memory card it is amazing

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

I soft modded the original xbox but haven't modded anything since. I played spiderman on PS2 when I was about 11 or 12 but I never owned one. I did however own a PS1 and remember Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Then you will be very happy to know the game was recently remastered on Xbox One and PS4 and releases this coming October 2nd :p

I've modded my PS1 with a http://PS-IO, allowing it to load games from an SD card.. :geek:

Yeah I soft modded mine, but many games didn't play 100% from the hard drive due to utilising emulation..
However, there's recently been a DVD exploit discovered that allows for playing games burned on a disc with no gameplay issues, and no modifications are needed.

I just don't see the appeal of these ancient consoles. I did briefly own an 8 bit Nintendo and it was okay at best. But compared to modern games, old stuff just sucks IMO. I like fun game play and nice graphics. I don't care how "cool" a 20 year old game is, unless it looks badass, I'm not interested. I didn't build a rad gaming rig to play Super Mario Brothers.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

I think a lot of it is nostalgia and some modern games have a tendency to over complicate things.

Using your example of Super Mario Bros, the appeal is that the controls are literally 'run' and 'jump' - even non-gamers could easily pick it up within moments.

Some of my favourite platformers are retro games!

This is true but also cinematics has been an important part of modern games too, the first i remember that had this was God Of War and RE4 (i don't know if there are prior games that had this) and somehow it's been a switch between the old and new, some games like Castlevania are made for gamers only, if you never played the old school ones like Super Castlevania IV or Symphony Of the Night you'll easily lose track of what you gotta do, i don't like the idea of sandbox replacing the platforms.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

i know only one thing Ps2 had the best games ever

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

Even though new consoles and game have taken over. Old game and consoles always remain the best for me

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

We did own a PS4 Pro 1TB for like a day, but we took it back. hehe Honestly, my g/f and I simply are PC gamers.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

I was looking online for ideas on what to do with my PS2 but didn't find anything good, I think I will only get to use the controller if I buy an adapter for PC, but the controllers are not better then the ones I could get for the same price of the adapter...Dunno, I don't even have any games on it as well. I will look into if I can turn it into a miner for bitcoins but I doubt it.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

I prefer the Xbox Controller for Windows. It's my favorite. I have an off brand controller now, but it isn't hooked up.

RE: Anyone still play in PS2?

Here in my country you get a "new" ps2 console for less than $50 with 2 controllers and a library of games.

People still update the soccer games with actual names of the players lol.
