When doing a custom build, are you more of an AMD (Radeon) person, or do you prefer Nvidia for your GPUs?

I started off with an AMD Radeon X before moving over to the Nvidia GTX1080 and was impressed as the solid performance boost I experienced. So much so, I recently upgraded again to the RTX 2070, again with Nvidia.

Anyone here stand by AMD Radeon's though?

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

AMD Ryzens seem to be what most people are using nowadays and it's even what the new Xbox Series X uses. I don't have a desktop but I would use Ryzen if I did. My laptop uses AMD Athlon Gold. It's not as good though.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

Maybe this gen will have something new with the PCI Express 4.0 from AMD to be on market

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

Not a custom build, but my new prebuilt PC due to arrive on Monday is an AMD - so I'll go with that..

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

Using Intel at the moment, next build will be AMD though.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

AMD all the way, just YouTube head to head comparisons, you'll want AMD too great performance and not nearly as expensive as an Intel or NVIDIA product. Talking peripherals too? Go Corsair, i used to be a Razer guy myself; however I am loving the switch.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

In my experience, NVIDIA has always been the better of the two. AMD has always had issues with their drivers and software. With that said, however, I have a 4GB AMD once in a laptop and I had no errors with them, Plus at times they are far cheaper than NVIDIA, then again NVIDIA is the flagship of all graphics cards.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

My new build with have the 3000 series in it. Probably 3080, I've never had an issue with Nvidia, never been a fan of AMD after my first AMD computer died after less than a year. Probably just bad luck but refused to touch anything AMD sense.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

I currently have an NVidia GTX 1060. I would love to upgrade to a new AMD GPU, but you have to trade in an arm, a leg, and a kidney for a GPU currently.

RE: AMD or Nvidia?

If you're searching for a no-frills gaming card, AMD has always been a reliable option. Their $/frames ratio is typically better than NV's, and their drivers are often reliable (including features like overclocking that NV's standard driver package lacks).

It's the high performance of AMD that makes me prefer it. NVIDIA product is good too but AMD is definitely better by all ramifications.
