I haven't dealt too much with this as I am still working on making a website myself but I have noticed that it can take time before webpages start appearing on Google Search.
Having a sitemap can help as it will let Google know what you want to show up and what you prioritize.

I haven't worked with any engines, but for more simple games that don't require a lot of resources I've mainly looked at some tutorials and a lot of time going over the documentation and trying things out.

This was referenced in a thread about Steam, but there are many sales that occur that I can find myself accumulating a large backlog of games and by the time I get through it, the new game I've been wanting to play has already been discounted.

I'm currently learning about web development and in doing so I've worked on creating some themes for learning purposes.
