A site failure tells why website owners should consistently back up their platforms. Quite a lot of people have lost contents because they didn't back up their website. It's a necessary task to perform. What's your current backup strategy and what's your plan for website backup frequencies.

This has happened to me, unfortunately.

I usually have automated backups and any changes I make to the site warrants a backup from me. On a forum I had, this would be daily but with my blogs it's usually weekly.

Websites are always prone to data theft, attacks etc. Therefore, when you back up your website on a regular basis, even if anything happens to your website, your website will never be down, you can easily bring it back.

Backups are good and needed. I would have the hosting company do it because I don't want to bother with it. Anyway, on top of backups, you also need strong passwords to everything, not stuff like 123ABC lol.

I take backups all the time and use Direct Admin which isn't terrible. It's unfortunate companies like cPanel have increased their prices so much.

But Direct Admin ain't no joke. It is the next best thing and is only around $60 per year. We use that and it's fantastic. So much better then virtualmin/webmin which is free that I used to use. Really the professionalism of the control panel and price-point are on point.

Automatic backups are vital and important. You should always take daily backups and store them off site as well.
