  • iOS 14 App Library

I prefer Apple over Android. However, I have always liked the App Draw / Library on Android.

I have wanted this for a long time, and thought it would be cool. Here it is, and it’s everything but cool.

I find the App Library annoying because if I don’t have an app on the Home Screen I can easily forget about the app. If I have an app in the App Library and receive a notification, I don’t know about the notification, and it could be important.

Having the App Library automatically categories apps is really good but you can’t rename folders or more apps to another folder.

Because apps are automatically sorted, it can be hard to find apps or easily forgotten as well. In the app library you can type in the search bar to find the app, though.

it would be good if you could disable the App Library.

One thing I like about Android apps is you can easily install a .apk file for apps that aren't already on Google Play. For example if you wanted to play the pokemon trading card game on your phone and had to bypass the fact it only was on tablet. Apple is different for that type thing. Requires a jailbreak and isn't worth the time.

No offense but how do you know it's not worth the time? I have jailbroken my phone in the past. Idk if you know but the Android equivalent of jailbreaking an iPhone is called "Rooting".

Also you can side-load apps on iOS.

Because of how complicated it is. You cannot sideload apps without a jailbroken iPhone. Plus it takes going into iTunes and it's a pain in the ass. Don't believe me? Search how to side load PTCGO. I tried when my laptop broke. There are tons of instructions

I have sideloaded without my phone being Jailbroken. I have a MacBook, so I had no problems side-loading.

That said, the creator of Cydia, created an app on MacOS that made it easy sideload. The only problem is I didn't have a developer account so I would have to re-sign the app every week.
