RE: Favorite Music Genres?

I'm really fond of Heavy Metal music. Keeps me alive and well. Whenever i feel sad, angry or happy there's always a song for every mood.

When i don't give an ear to heavy music i dig a lot of Tango even though i'm not Argentinian :P

I also like guitar players like Francisco T�rrega.

I don�t really like it myself or any modern music. It�s too exciting for me. I love something calming and relaxing for meditation, yoga, working out, focus, and stress and anxiety relief. Music is life for me personally. I have 24/7 in the background a gentle, soft and soothing ambiance and atmosphere music to focus on and meditate with and I fall asleep on it too because I have a sleep disorder too.

I tend to like rap and heavy metal. Ambient music for relaxation isn't terrible sometimes either. But I mainly listen to rap music and bands like slipknot, Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Tool, Mudvayne. I listen to some singles Godsmack has too. Not too entirely bad of a list of heavy metal to listen to. Rappers tend to be mostly juggalo rappers like Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Boondox, ABK, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, AMB, DJ Clay and so forth. DJ Clay has quite a bit of really good juggalo albums to give a listen.

Rap and Heavy Metal is like Oil and Water. They can't mix well and when you force it it's just a complete mess imo, even though a lot of metal bands included some sort of rap into their repertoire like Anthrax.

I can tell that both share almost the same ideals of tribal belonging but it just doesn't work for me.

I almost ripped my ears when i heard my fav band Rush having something of it in the song Roll the bones (1991) lol

1@Laifot[/USER] some Heavy Metal mixed with rap is actually not as bad as you think. If you've heard the album by Jay-Z and Linkin Park called Numb/Encore then you'd agree with me. One of the best rock/rap mixes I've heard yet.

Hip-hop would be my favourite genre, with metal at a close second. While I enjoy electronic and pop music, I listen to them far less.

How can i say? i don't wanna sound intolerant or disrespectful towards your taste, but that band was never considered something relevant in the evolution of heavy metal, they sure were famous and were doing amazing amount of money and influence using heavy music but they failed to take it as an "evolution" musically speaking, they just used modern mixing methods and autotune which totally kills the essence of great vocalists like Ronnie James Dio or guys like Ian Gillan, David Coverdale just to mention a few.

For me, they are a pretty solid introduction to how metal music sounds and a nostalgia for 90s kids, they haven't really contributed to riffs techniques or drumming like Judas Priest did having 2 leading axes or Iron Maiden style with the bass guitar.

I hope you see my point Dear TS, i'm not trying to take your opinion down.

I was referring to heavy metal as a whole with all of their genres and sub-genres.

One similar band (system of a down) is coming back in 2021 i'm sure you know them.

I�ve taken a liking to soft rock and pop such as �The Rolling Stones�, �Pink�, Whitney Houston, and �The Beatles�. On a whole, I prefer music from before 2000, any genre and artist.

I like classic rock, especially from the 60s and 70s. In my opinion, these two decades gave the best musicians to the world. I was introduced to classic rock in my twenties, and I am in love with this music.

I think that there is much to be gained from all genres of music and indeed listen to a very wide range of genres. Not that I'm not picky; in fact, as a voracious consumer of music, I am extremely picky: I have limited time and there is only a finite amount of music I can listen to.�I'll say hip hop. When I first started listening to rap, everyone tells you that it is mindless garbage. And I kind of agreed with these people at the time (2007,peak soulja boy era). But then I discovered Kanye West's "college drop out" it taught me that rap can be both fun to listen and thought provoking.
