  • Fake Hipsters

I decided to grow some side burns (lamb chops) so my Jerry Seinfeld/Chevy Chase brother had to take a swipe at hipsters. He was noting one meme about the big beard hipster - who couldn't even change a tire! Anyway, this hypocrite (my brother) has had a goatee for 20 years !! Jerk

    RE: Fake Hipsters

I have a beard myself and have had one since I was a teenager. Started out as a goatee and later I grew a beard. I'm not a hipster myself however. Or "hippie" but I used to hang out with a lot of hippies.

So, all vikings were hipsters? :P

I don't like having a beard, here it's so damn hot and it tickles when it's extremely hot and my skin turns red all the time.

Plenty of nerds/geeks can change tires - but are assumed wrongly!

I *hate* having facial hair (and having to shave it), to the extent that I'm currently in the process of having it lasered off..

I can change a tyre if I have to. I prefer letting the garage do it though!

George Washington's time saw beards out of fashion but in Abe Lincoln's time it was the opposite. But how many people are shaving, keeping it - only to follow style?

I highly disagree. Woman love beards. As long as they aren't huge beards. I can't count how many times I've had woman check me out for my slim shaven beard. I usually keep mine small. When I haven't had a hair cut it gets bigger but I usually don't let it get too big. Some woman are the opposite though and prefer their man to be shaven. However those are the MTV type poster boys who can't compare to a badass beard

I was talking about ugly dudes that use beards to "hide" imperfections or stuff like that, i know most women love beards that are kept clean.

When i use beards i look quite mature and i like that look sometimes..

Honestly, a bunch of 18-year-olds with beards look phony. It's like Eddie Munster with a beard, lol. Kids that age - don't look like kids! Anyway, shouldn't a beard be something people earn? I mean, if I see a wounded war vet with a beard - O.K. - I think he's earned it!

Hehe I have my own personal reasons I don't think anyone would understand but I personally can guarantee my beard has been earned. I see what you mean though. It is funny to watch some of these pansy guys with beards but like they say "put some hair on your chest". I can say that mine has been earned through quite a difficult and strange for that matter life I've lived so far.

It's hard to judge people, though. I don't really know what people have been thru. That's what my brother was doing - judging people - saying they're stupid.
