    New Mind Piff Landing Page has Been Added

    Hey guys just an update on the changes your seeing here.

    A new landing page for mind piff has been added to the site. This will consist of any articles I promote and decide to feature that are getting enough posts in them and deserve some attention. If you noticed images added to some of the threads (maybe even your own) then that was why.

    It's given me the ability to add extra widgets and I really like the idea of that and I think it looks very neat and clean cut.

    You can leave your thoughts below. It's all setup now. I will be adding icons to the sidebar area in the places that need them shortly but I won't need to take the site down again to do that. You may of noticed I took it down for only 15 minutes earlier. Thank you

    I like the extra padding you've given between the two columns.

      Okay I like the way the homepage looks now. Currently you may have noticed widgets changing order and different ones being added. I'm pretty much now satisfied with the way it looks. It's possible other widgets could be added/removed but for the most part it looks how I had intended here. Also 1@Nerdface[/USER] no extra padding has been given. The add-on is as/is. The sidebar may be what pulled off that look.

          Maybe you could add the general newest post widget in the Portal, i need to get into the forum section to reply to the latests threads.

            I had newest threads on it but took it down. Currently I don't intend to add the new posts widget to the homepage as the majority of active posters will be on the main forum page. I'm looking at adding the welcome notice to the homepage though as well as the forum page. I think the majority of our users will be on the forum page. The homepage is really just for new users coming to the site to attract their attention and also to give a nice display of content where you can see it first hand before getting to know further what the sites about.

              Thing is, you might wanna try to put the most active sub-forums in display and people like when a lot of users keep posting. Anyway it's just an opinion. It looks good as is it now.

                I was considering taking 1@Gaming_Kids[/USER] advice to some extent and generalizing the sections a bit more to build up more posts. But I don't want to do this too much or over-do it because a lot of our sections are indeed the type that need to be singled out like that. Though some of the sections could have sub-forums instead. What's your idea on this? Feel free to post a full complete run-down on how you'd want the section to look in feedback. Can't guarantee implementation but I can say that it would help me decide

                  Hey guys I decided to scrap the landing page. Would much rather we focus the homepage on the main forums. Mainly because it takes to long to have to click into the main forums and 1@Andox88[/USER] was one who didn't like that structure. To be honest I think we need to focus on growing the site first before deciding to make a landing page. At some point this may happen but I'd rather focus on growing the site first. Most of our traffic is on the homepage and I want users to be on the forum page when they first come to the site. Plus we were just featuring threads and not having articles. I can use Dohthemes built in thread feature tool for featuring threads above the forum list later if I want to.

                    It was good, but maybe you can just feature the most popular thread of every category without doing a proper landing page so it looks more compact. Either way is good i think.
