  • Near death experiences?

Have you ever encountered near death experiences in your life?

The most recent one that I can think of happened around 2 years back. I remember seeing myself as a third party, facing a demon that is quietly smiling at me, ready to pounce.

I struggled for a full 7 minutes before I was able to move out and recover. What re yours? Please elaborate.

    RE: Near death experiences?

Some people have had near death experiences where they were in Heaven, and others where they were in Hell for a short amount of time. I actually believe the light people claim to see is real. There have been too many people who have for it to be a lie. If it was a lie then why so many of them claim it?

I never had one where I was dead but something strange did happen when I was 19 where I was in a hospital for what seemed thousands of years and had a feeling of weightlessness about me. Can't explain what it was. But the weightlessness and emptiness was real.

I was born not breathing so I guess that qualifies even though I don't remember it? LOL

About 30 years ago my sister and I were in a car accident and it was odd how everything moved in slow motion just like in the movies and my life did pass before my eyes. I wasn't hurt in the accident which is very odd!

        RE: Near death experiences?

I was born with a medical condition and I had an intense surgery when I was 8. I had a Clef palet right by my arteries that needed to be removed and the docs said one mistake in the surgery could result to death. I dont know if it was near death but there was a high chance that I could have died in that surgery. Thankfully the docs knew what they were doing

I haven't yet had a near death experience, but I have had many quite near accident occurrences, where I nearly got hit crossing the street. Way too many times of thinking I was going to end up in the hospital because of it.

              RE: Near death experiences?

Yes, I agree. When I was in my first year of college, I had a near-death experience. I had decided that life was not worth living and that I would terminate it all. I was alone and contemplating jumping from the balcony. Fortunately, my friend intervened and pulled me back to reality. I was admitted to the hospital and placed under the care of a psychiatrist. The acute depressive condition was diagnosed in me. Throughout my recovery, I learned that it is critical to be conscious of your position and attempt to escape it rather than living with your difficulties. I realized that not everyone is cut out to give up and walk away from life.

If it's for near accident experiences, I have had more than I can count because my father practically had to leave his car for me and buy a new one as I have rammed it in on several occasions when I drive.

                  RE: Near death experiences?

I have not had any incident of near death experience so far and as such won't be the best person to comment on this. But I have heard or read about such experiences which to say the least is hair rising. Many such incidents involved hospitals where the patient is being operated upon and at some stage the patient probably dies. While being revived by the doctors, the patient is able to see himself on the operating table surrounded by a team of professionals desperately trying to bring back life. Patients who survived this often doesn't remember anything but a few lucky ones do live to tell the story.

I was on an aircraft that was about to crash. I went through the phases of death in my mind. I prayed, but it didn't help. At the conclusion, I felt a sense of peace and acceptance, as well as a sense of tranquility. The controls then freed, and we barely made it out. It was near death experiences

That must have been terrifying, glad it turned out fine in the end.

                        RE: Near death experiences?

Luckily for me, I have not had any near death experience for which I am grateful to god. Yet the thought of dying one day is constantly pestering my mind. I have heard about dead persons coming back to life just before their burial. I have heard doctors while doing major surgeries, have revived patients who were on the verge of dying or sometimes dead. It's strange. I wonder what would that experience be like. In all probability, I doubt if the patient remembers anything. But in any case, it is something to think about.

Jeez, that's definitely not an experience anyone would like to pass through. Imagine having the though of being burnt alive and lost in space after the crash. It's a horrible way to die.
