  • No Internet! Ohh God. Bored!

As of today, it's been very cold, cold in fact that it's not even snowing but ice, anyway point saying that my phone and internet line went down for eight hours today. Got me thinking though. Since we all do things online, I was bored. I was like damn. most that I do is the online and the only option that I had was watching game videos that I had my system.

If your connection goes down for hours on end, what do you do? Bored or just what your brain goes dead.

RE: No Internet! Ohh God. Bored!

If my Internet goes out, I wait for it to come back up. I've never had an issue with it going down for more then 24 hours to my memory. There may have been once where it was a couple days. I'd probably just chill out and watch TV. Of course we don't have cable and use Roku so I wouldn't even be able to do that. That's too bad though your Internet went out.

We have a generator backup that kicks on automatically when our power goes out but if the cable company is out too then we won't have internet or TV. When that happens I have tons of things I can be doing such as working out, doing crafts, art, singing, playing flute or tin whistle, etc.

Don't be bored! Find fun things to do even if it's organizing your sock drawer LOL

Over summer a really bad storm hit my area, we lost internet for a good three days with both ISP and phone g network. It sucked but I had enough offline games and anime dvds to keep me busy.

I unplug often anyways thruout the day. I can always find something to do. If it's nice out & during the day time, I tinker around outside. If it's cold & dreary, I have Variety Puzzle books, books, playing cards. I like to clean so there's that lol

It's pretty funny when I lose the internet; Even though the PS3/PS4 can play games offline I feel like I don't want to.. Which makes no sense at all, especially as timestamps are maintained so long as you've been online with the console(s) you're playing on in the past.

Thankfully I haven't experienced too many outages, but I find watching films are a good way of killing a bit of time. I even do a few chores if I feel like it!

I am a huge fan of calligraphy, whenever I get some free time I sit with my calligraphy pen and notepad feels like heaven.

In this digital age handwritten letter or a note to a friend will definitely put a smile in their face.

My suggestion is to use internet for our betterment, not to be hooked throughout the day

RE: No Internet! Ohh God. Bored!

I guess people have become so dependant on internet these days that just the thought of internet getting disconnected can cause sort of panic in them. I am sure there should be some medical term for that but I am not aware. Internet has indirectly made all lazy I feel. I know many who are glued to the screen most of the day. Utilizing the internet free time for some productive purpose such as home improvement, getting your unfinished work done, taking the time to review your priorities etc... the list can go on. It is just up to you to take the initiative and get on with the job. You will never have time to feel bored.

I'm guessing you have an internet connection now since this topic was posted a long time ago. It just shows you how much we rely on technology for our everyday lives. Atleast when something like this happens it makes us feel grateful for what we have.

RE: No Internet! Ohh God. Bored!

I usually watch my bluray/dvd movies on TV or I read a book or workout or if its nice out go outside if the internet is down. I do a lot of that stuff anyways even when my internet is working

RE: No Internet! Ohh God. Bored!

I can only imagine how boring it would be to live without internet for a single moment. For that very reason, I have two internet connections having two different providers. So even if one shows any problem, I quickly switch to the other one.

Reading, going for a walk, going to the gym, listening to or playing music, crochet, cross stitch, audiobooks, playing with pets, taking a nap... endless possibilities.

I had a ton of set backs because of power outages in our area in California cuz of forest fires, before we got the tesla solar roof stuff installed but I would just pack all the emergency stuff with my hommies and we would play some ping pong or basket ball. Or if I was alone I would just read some book.
